Many of the sites listed in our
resource guide, contain Greek characters written using the codeset known as "ELOT
928". In order to view Greek characters, you need to install Greek fonts on your
operating system. For your convenience, we provide a set of Greek fonts for different
platforms. Please choose the set matching your operating system, and follow the
installation instructions. Keep in mind that these fonts will allow you to read Greek
characters. In order to write in Greek, you will also need to install an appropriate
keyboard driver (Windows 95 user can install Multilanguage support for Greek). For more
information on reading and writing Greek on your favorite platform you may also visit the
Hellenic Resource Institute's pages.
In addition to Greek fonts, this page will also provide a source for getting useful
Internet utilities (Browsers, viewers, etc.).

After downloading your preferred font, copy and run the corresponding
font.exe file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
From the Main group (or settings on your Windows 95 Start bar) choose the Control panel
and double-click on the fonts icon.
In Windows 3.1x/NT click on the Add button (Windows 95 users can select "Install New
Font" under the File pull-down menu in the Fonts window), and select the
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
Proceed by pressing the Select All button, and then the OK button. After Windows installs
the new fonts, click on the Close button and exit the Control Panel.

Macintosh Greek Fonts
- Installation instructions :

After downloading the Machintosh Greek Fonts file to your computer, you
must decode it using BinHex.
Start your BinHex (or compatible) application, and from the "File" menu select
"Upload->Application".
Choose the dowloaded font file, and select "Save" to decode the file.
- Amiga Greek Fonts - The EPA Greek
Workbench
- How to unpack and install the EPAGrWb.lha :
Get and install Lha (Shift-click to
download ir it) from any Aminet site.
Uncompress the archive: on a shell "cd" to a temporary
directory, and then issue "lha x EPAGrWb.lha"
A directory EPAGrWb will be created: "cd" to this directory
and issue "install", or from Workbench open the necessary drawers to get to the
EPAGrWb drawer and double-click on the "Install" icon. From then on, the
installation will proceed using the standard "Installer" program that comes with
the system disks.
